The Mulhouse Carnival, from 22 to 26 February 2023

From the end of February to mid-March, Mardi Gras arrives in the Alsace region.

Every town loves to celebrate the end of winter and you can have fun at the Mulhouse Carnival, a 15-minute drive from the hotel.

For its 70th year, the Mulhouse Carnival introduces the 70s and flowers.

Basel Carnival in Switzerland, from 27 February to 1 March 2023

It takes place during one week. It's an opportunity to show everyone how creative you are and to celebrate together.

These days are also part of UNESCO's World Intangible Cultural Heritage. That's saying a lot!

To start the Carnival, the Basel people wait until Monday, just after Ash Wednesday.

In the middle of the night, at around 4 a.m., the "Morgenstreich" starts in the city centre.

The handmade lanterns light up in the darkness and are accompanied by drummers. They will continue until 4 a.m. the next day.

Freiburg Carnival in Germany, 18-21 February 2023

Germany also wears its most beautiful colours at this time of year!
